Shyam Unnikrishnan is a Partner in Bain and Company’s Bangalore office and a leader in the Consumer Products, Retail, Strategy and Digital practices.
Shyam has worked in Bain’s US, Australia and India offices, advising clients across multiple geographies. His focus areas comprise a range of topics, including full potential strategy, new market entry, sales acceleration, customer experience enhancement, commercial due diligence and merger integration. Over the last decade, Shyam has worked with companies across the spectrum – startups, digital unicorns, scale local companies and multi-national companies – and helped them deliver sustained profitable growth.
In 2019, Shyam was selected as one of India’s ’40 under 40’ Business leaders by the Economic Times and was the first Indian recipient of Bain’s global Bright-Dix award in 2018.
Shyam has been cited and published in several mainstream and business publications and has co-authored multiple reports on Indian shopper behavior (offline and online) and the new growth paradigm for marketers.
He earned an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and a B.E. (Hons.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS, Pilani.
