Prasun Basu is President - South Asia for Nielsen and leads the company’s business operations in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Prasun has over two decades’ client consulting experience across global markets, working extensively in the US, Brazil, Mexico, Africa, Middle-East, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Thailand. His expertise spans brand and communications, innovation and new product development, and customer loyalty management.
Prior to this, Prasun was Managing Director for South Asia region at Millward Brown, and previously MD for Middle East, North and East Africa. He has also worked with the Gallup Organization in the US, India, and Thailand, heading their consulting division. He has also had a stint at IMRB International as Vice President.
Prasun is returning to Nielsen, having previously led the BASES business across India, Africa and the Middle East, and the Consumer Research business in South Asia.
A prolific speaker and author, Prasun has been quoted in the Harvard Business Review, Time Magazine, BBC Worldwide and has published in the Philosophy of Science. He is also a member of several prestigious industry bodies and has presented at marquee industry events including the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Prasun has also delivered lectures at premier institutes including IIM, MICA, JBIMS and ISA.
Prasun holds an MBA as well as an MS from University of Rochester, New York and a Masters in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute.
