Matthew Barwell is the Chief Marketing Officer of Britvic Soft Drinks Plc, a key member of the Executive Committee responsible for all aspects of Global Brand strategy and execution, Innovation as well as for Corporate Affairs and the company’s sustainability agenda.
Matthew joined Britvic in 2014 from Diageo, the world’s leading premium drinks business, where he was a senior member of the marketing team for more than 15 years. Matthew was Marketing and Innovation Director for Diageo Europe and prior to that Marketing and Innovation Director for Africa. He also worked and lived in Italy for a number of years with the company.
He started his career as a graduate trainee at Mars, working in sales and marketing across the Petcare and Confectionary businesses. Matthew was the Chair the Marketing Group of Great Britain from 2020-21, a former Chair of the Advertising Association’s Front Foot group and a Fellow of the Marketing Society. He lives in Berkshire with his wife Harriet and three boys.
