Marene has a Master's Degree in English Literature from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and started her Marketing career at a Licensing agency in the Netherlands, where she started as a brand manager for films and tv-series, and ended up heading the Marketing department. This was followed by a six year stint as Head of Marketing Benelux at Dyson. After a short sabbatical she switched industries yet again, moving from Consumer Electronics to Payment Technology to join Mastercard. She started as Director of Marketing & Communications at Mastercard in the Netherlands, and moved on to be the Vice President of Marketing & Communications for DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) in April 2022.
