Rana started his Kantar career in (erstwhile) IMRB International in 1994 in Bangalore and moved to (erstwhile) Millward Brown in Shanghai in 1999 during an exciting period of expansion. He was involved in helping set up China, Taiwan, Korea and Philippines offices, subsequently heading the Greater China business for Millward Brown and then Kantar’s Insights Division.

Rana’s specialty lies in helping clients navigate the diversity and complexity of building brands and communications in a digital world. As the Chief Client and Solutions Officer for Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific from 2008 to 2013, Rana set up new transformative businesses such as the Media & Digital and the Analytics Practice and grew them to multi-million-dollar contributors to the business. He also built and led a team of domain experts and regional client leaders which significantly enhanced business with key accounts across multiple geographies, delivering double-digit growth with key accounts. Rana also won and built the Coca-Cola, J&J APAC accounts and the Samsung global account.

In his most recent role of as CEO for Insights, Greater China from 2016-20, Rana led a turnaround of the business by growing with Chinese brands going abroad. He also led a transformation of the offer and client experience by developing agile digital and tech capabilities through data and platform partnership with tech giants such as Alibaba, Tencent and Bytedance.
