David Buckley is Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of eCommerce for Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Inc., a publically traded national retailer (NASDAQ: SHOS), primarily focused on selling home appliances, hardware, tools and lawn and garden equipment. David is responsible for development, planning and execution of the consumer marketing strategies for 4 retail chains and an ecommerce website: Sears Hometown Stores, Sears Home Appliance Showrooms, Sears Appliance and Hardware stores, Sears Outlet Stores and searsoutlet.com. With over 1,100 locations and a presence in all 50 states plus Puerto Rico and Bermuda, David leads a team to execute large scale nationwide marketing strategies while leveraging the hyper-local aspect of retailing. Responsible for the marketing and operations of searsoutlet.com, David balances the marketing of the site to drive pure ecommerce sales, sales transacted online and fulfilled in-store, and online influenced sales that transact in-store. David and his team plan and execute marketing campaigns across a wide variety of channels including: newspaper, direct mail, radio, TV, billboard, social media, E-mail, loyalty marketing, cause marketing, public relations, SEO, SEM, online display advertising, mobile marketing, affiliate marketing, and local event marketing. Prior to joining Sears, David served as Global Director of Advertising for the Associated Press, leading the advertising strategy with a specific focus on mobile and tablet technologies. David earned his B.A. from Stonehill College and his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
