A self-proclaimed techie and futurist who mentors some of Singapore’s content, data and tech startups disrupting the marketing services industry. Ashutosh is the CEO of GroupM Asia Pacific, where he leads 10,000 people passionate about making advertising work better in the world. A member of GroupM’s Global Leadership Team and a key player in the company’s role as a market leader in the APAC region, he is partnering with agency and GroupM leadership throughout the entire APAC region, to utilize GroupM’s intelligence and scale to deliver more powerful and innovative solutions for clients across cultures. With $16 billion in media investment billings across 16 countries, GroupM owns a 43% market share in the group’s second largest market.

Ashutosh was previously Chairman and CEO Mindshare AMEA & Russia/CIS, where he built Mindshare into a market leader, leveraging its core value of provocation to dominate awards in the region such as the Spikes, Tangrams, Festival of Media APAC and MMA Smarties APAC. Mindshare was also been named Campaign’s Media Agency Network of the Year in APAC for five consecutive years. Mindshare APAC’s success also contributed toward Mindshare being named the Cannes Lions Media Network of the Year in 2019 and the MMA Global Mobile Agency of the Year for the past two years.

In other past roles, Ashutosh helped launch Mindshare in India in 2001 and was subsequently the CEO for GroupM South Asia, before moving to Singapore to be Mindshare APAC CEO in 2006. He also led Mindshare’s global products and talent communities from 2012-14 and was the CEO for its growth markets group covering APAC, MENA, Africa and Russia, before stepping into the GroupM APAC role this April.

Ashutosh, who is passionate about the development of mobile platforms, has also served as the Board Chairman of the Mobile Marketers Association (MMA) for APAC from 2015-18, and is now Chairman Emeritus on the APAC board. MMA is the global industry body facilitating the development of industry standards and the ecosystem for mobile marketing.
