Mobile Marketing Forum Reinforces Growth of Mobile & Illustrates Continued Creativity of Mobile Channel

San Diego, CA, Mobile Marketing Forum – Nov. 13, 2008 — The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) (, which represents more than 700 member companies worldwide, today opened its Mobile Marketing Forum (MMF) in San Diego. Held at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, this one-day event will not only recognize companies who are successfully utilizing and leading the adoption of the mobile channel for marketing purposes but will offer insights into what the mobile community has planned for 2009.

The MMF ( wraps up with the MMA Fourth Annual Global Mobile Marketing Awards, which recognize excellence and innovation in mobile marketing across 12 global categories, including Best Use of Mobile Marketing in Branding and Relationship-Building, and Innovation for Creativity in Media.

The MMF emphasizes marketer’s case studies including mobile advertising campaigns, mobile couponing, location services, marketing to urban youth and creating opportunities through social communities. The event also includes several roundtables with industry leaders including operators, brands, agencies, entertainment and media companies. Featured speakers include: Tom Daly, The Coca-Cola Company; Russell Buckley, AdMob, Inc.; Michael Perhaes, MGM Grand; and Nidal Barake Awar, Tedexis.

“There have been an increasing number of innovative programs this year, including the Obama mobile presidential campaign and we welcome many of them to our MMF program,” said Laura Marriott, president of the MMA. “As we look into 2009, the MMA will continue to stay at the forefront of ensuring all leading campaigns, world-wide, are integrated into our MMF programs so that we can ensure continued industry health through education, information sharing, creativity and innovation.”
