FIRST WASHINGTON DC AREA SUPERMARKET LAUNCHES MOBILE REWARDS FROM MOBILELIME
Chevy Chase Supermarket First to Offer Rewards via Cell Phone
BOSTON - SEPTEMBER 26, 2006 - MobileLime(r), the first company to turn the mobile phone into a marketing, loyalty and payment device, today announced that Chevy Chase Supermarket is the first merchant in the Washington DC metro area to offer its patrons rewards and instant savings linked to their cell phone with Mobile Rewards from MobileLime.
With MobileLime's Mobile Rewards platform, Chevy Chase Supermarket can now offer its patrons exclusive real-time member benefits, which include information-based alerts and instant savings on items store-wide through their clientele's mobile phones. The supermarket is now able to communicate with patrons before, during and after each purchase transaction, directly influencing buying behaviors at the point of sale. Through text messaging and email communications, shoppers enrolled in the Chevy Chase Mobile Rewards program are the first to know about special sales, events and more.
"As a neighborhood grocer, we want to build a relationship with our patrons and MobileLime's Mobile Rewards program enables us to interact with them in real-time, communicating up to the minute specials and events," said Kevin Kirsch of family-owned Chevy Chase Supermarket. "Shoppers can now get instant savings without carrying a card, and receive just-in-time shopping information about new products, events, sales and promotions on their cell phones. And down the road we expect to add mobile payments to the mix as well."
MobileLime's rewards program improves the shopping experience for the consumer and eliminates the need for physical loyalty cards by using shoppers' cell phone numbers as their unique identifier. The cashier simply enters the member's cell phone number at checkout and the shopper receives instant item-level savings towards purchases that will keep them coming back. With the Mobile Rewards Program, members can opt-in to receive exclusive event, special and savings alerts via cell phone, as well as email newsletters.
"MobileLime is very excited to enter the Mid-Atlantic marketplace with an upscale and quality-focused supermarket like Chevy Chase Supermarket," said Robert Wesley, president and CEO, MobileLime. "The Mobile Rewards program gives Chevy Chase the ability to improve their patrons overall shopping experience. This launch further demonstrates the opportunity MobileLime offers to grocery retailers nationwide to tap into the growing importance that cell phones play in our daily lives."
Mobile Rewards is free to the consumer and available now. Consumers can sign up at the store or online at www.chevychasesupermarket.com. Chevy Chase Supermarket is located at 8531 Connecticut Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD 301-656-5133.
