Enters market to leverage regional strength as largest mobile advertising network

Australia, November 23, 2010 – InMobi, the world’s largest independent mobile advertising network, today announced its entry into the rapidly expanding Australian market with the appointment of Rob Marston as Regional Director covering the Pacific region. Rob will be responsible for managing InMobi’s Australian operations, expanding regional business and building the local team. InMobi’s entrance into the Australian market adds to US and EU launches earlier in 2010. Since January 2010, InMobi has grown from 7.5 Billion ad impressions to 23.9 Billion in October making it one of the fastest growing mobile ad networks.

“The mobile advertising market in Australia is under-serviced despite high mobile Internet penetration and content consumption. InMobi recognises the tremendous potential for mobile advertising and is focused on setting up a strong local presence to work closely with publishers, developers, brands and advertisers. With his extensive experience in digital marketing, Rob is the perfect choice to lead our business in the Pacific region,” said Emmanuel Allix, Vice President & Managing Director - Asia Pacific at InMobi.

According to the latest market data from InMobi, smartphone ad impressions have grown 65% between June and October 2010. In terms of consumer preferences, 39% of Australians use their phone primarily for voice and 54% use it for data driven applications. These data signal huge changes for advertisers in how they will need to reach consumers as mobile web usage begins to cannibalize fixed PC usage. Mobile advertising with InMobi is one of those solutions in the Australian market.

“There are currently more mobile phones in Australia than people and half of these phones are smartphones. This highlights that the Australian market is poised for explosive growth. InMobi is an independent network that has shown innovation and has considerable global reach to ensure greater performance and delivery. Our first order of business is to educate the local mobile community and we will begin by launching a series of educational seminars in 2011. I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to InMobi’s success in the coming years,” said Rob Marston, Regional Director - Pacific at InMobi.

Most recently, Rob was National Director of Search with the Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) where he was responsible for launching its Search Division and grew a team to six in two years. Prior to joining SMG, Rob held various senior roles at 24/7 Real Media, Monster.com and Procter & Gamble.
