Cannes Lions is truly the world’s global meeting place for those
working in creativity in communications. More than 10,000 registered
delegates from 91 countries attended the Festival in 2012.
And 2012 marked the inaugural year of mobile as a distinct and
separate award category at the festival so it was only fitting in this
milestone year that the MMA set out to make a big impression in
Cannes. By all accounts, it proved to be a “runaway” success with
overwhelmingly positive feedback.
In fact, the CEO of Cannes Lions commented that he had never seen
any organization “get it so quickly, have such a bold vision and execute
against that vision in such an impactful way in the first year – it
generally takes companies three years to figure it out.”
