Greg Smith leads digital media investment for MEC. In recent years, Greg has lead various projects including business development, operations and M&A. In 2013 and 2014 he worked with marketers, publishers, media buying agencies, an advertising auditing organization and one of the top "big data" aggregators. In February, 2014, he authored an industry report on how marketers and their agencies are handling digital ad verification and impressions fraud.
In 2013 completed a long-term consultation as Director for Special Projects at the US office of Essence Digital where he helped Essence create a global expansion strategy, a "go to market" positioning, six partnerships and completed three company acquisitions for this expanding digital agency.
In 2010 and 2011, Greg was the Media Lead for Google, selecting and managing Google's media agencies, and overseeing B2B and B2C global media strategies and operations. He was part of the internal Google team known as the Creative Lab.
Prior to “client-side” he worked in various digital media agencies including Neo@Ogilvy, Carat and Zenith. Greg was also a founder of one of the first full-service digital agencies, Darwin Digital, in 1996.
Greg is a graduate of Boston University.
