Chandu Rajapreyar is a creative explorer with the analytical mind of a strategist backed by the real-world sensibilities of a marketer. As a believer of the mantra, ‘my job isn’t my title’ he remains very hands on preferring to lead by example and guidance.
In his 21-year career which saw him move geographies from Sri Lanka to India to Vietnam, Chandu has had the privilege of working with and learning from some of the most brilliant minds in the both advertising and marketing industries.
In his previous stint in Sri Lanka as VP/ECD, he played an integral role in getting 2 Agency of the Year awards for South Asia on Campaign Brief and 3 Agency of the Year awards at Effie’s which saw the agency hold its own with regional and global giants by being placed 9th in Asia Pacific and 36th globally in industry rankings.
With over 150 advertising and marketing accolades and a bag full of turn-around brands to his name, Chandu is one of the most awarded creative professionals in his home turn of Sri Lankan advertising. His passionate and perseverant outlook to life and the sheer love of taking a challenge head on brought him to Leo Burnett Vietnam. His most recent initiative - the NIKE SWOOSH, which went viral on social media and hailed of as a masterpiece of simplicity has been called the best logo based campaign ever done for the brand by advertising and marketing industry professionals.
His pursuits have gone beyond advertising. Chandu is the Co-founder of THUNKK Solutions, an innovations company which has given birth to products like VendAble and PayAble. He is also the founding partner of SD Tech, a company that focusses predominantly on AI and Blockchain solutions in 3 different markets across the world.
