He is an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad). Ajay has over 25 years of work experience in sales, marketing, and business assignments with a diverse set of challenges and business drivers.

He has had rich exposure across sectors from FMCG, Consumer Finance to Media. He has worked with Nestle, Colgate Palmolive, Godrej Sara Lee, General Electric, HT Media, and Godrej Consumer Products before joining the Aditya Birla Group.

Ajay joined the Aditya Birla Group in July 2017 and leads the Marketing function at UltraTech Cement. A part of Sensex 30, UltraTech is a $6 Billion company. An Aditya Birla Group company, UltraTech is India’s Largest Cement and Concrete brand and the third largest Cement company in the world outside China.

He is responsible for formulating the product and marketing strategy, strengthening the premium positioning of Brand UltraTech both and driving profitable growth on the portfolio.

In his past stints he led the Marketing function at Godrej Consumer Products, India and has been part of General Electric’s premier global sales & marketing leadership cadre.

Ajay has a proven record of delivering strong business results in tough competitive markets through strategic thinking, strong execution focus and innovation. He has been a steward of strong brands like Good Knight, Cinthol, Godrej Expert, HIT, Colgate and Hindustan Times and has led many award-winning marketing campaigns on these brands.

An award-winning marketer, he was awarded 'Marketer of the Year’ - at the International Advertising Association (IAA) Leadership Awards -2016. After revamping the marketing function, Ajay and his team have this year received 30+ marketing awards just this fiscal at various cross-industry marketing platforms. These include UltraTech being chosen as the Advertiser of the year and Brand of the year.
