Julie joined Shazam in January 2015 as our first commercial country manager running exclusively the French advertising business. Indeed, France is the second biggest market for Shazam – with Italy and behind the US- with 9 million MAU and 42 million downloads.
Her role consists in managing our french sales house, Mbrand3, through 3 major axes:
- Maximizing advertising revenues (through in-app and second screen solutions)
- Building and securing partnerships with clients, agencies, record labels, broadcasters
- Enhancing Shazam's presence in everyday life through B2B and B2C initiatives
She’s based in London at the Hammersmith office.
Today, Shazam has more than 650 million users with more than 110 million active every month. Shazam is available in 33 languages in over 200 countries. Usage has exploded all over the world and Shazam is now definitely a verb for audience engagement.
Recently, Shazam became more than an app for music recognition, it is now a music platform with artists accounts allowing users to follow their favourite artist and what they shazam as well, to discover more and more music.
Last May, Shazam launched a new functionality as well: the visual recognition, in partnership with Digimarc.
Within a few weeks, Julie & her partner have ran already more than 12 visual outdoor and press campaigns in France, with different advertisers from all categories: luxury, automotive, banking & insurance, entertainment…making the french market the most captive market for the visual recognition so far.
Prior to joining Shazam, Julie worked for M6 Group in Paris, which is the 2nd multimedia-advertising network in France. She was there for 4 years as commercial director, developing close business relationships with key media agencies, selling TV sponsorships and promoting innovation and digital solutions on multi devices.
And previously, Julie worked 6 years in Omnicom Media Group, alternatively as media account executive, media account manager then media account director, managing her business unit at Fuse, the branded and entertainment division of OMG. Julie and her team won a few awards for projects developed for Mc Donald’s or La Banque Postale for instance.
Julie is a music addict, writing lover and pretty good tennis player.
