Mobile Marketing Forum Singapore Plans Global Debut

April 22, 2009

Live webcast to bring regional event to international audience

Singapore, April 22, 2009 – The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), the premier global non-profit trade association established to lead the growth of mobile marketing and its associated technologies, today announced that the industry’s key international event, the Mobile Marketing Forum (MMF), will now be available through live webcast. Launching with the MMF in Singapore on April 28 and 29, it will be the first accessible via a live feed, with the goal of bringing the event to a larger audience, both within the region and around the world.

“The Mobile Marketing Forum has built great brand recognition as the leading industry event that links the full mobile marketing ecosystem. We understand that time and cost are always factors influencing people’s decisions to attend an event, especially so in the current economic climate,” Mike Wehrs, President & CEO of Mobile Marketing Association, commented. “With the introduction of the live streaming option, we aim to make the MMF in Singapore easily accessible to prospective delegates across the globe. This will also ensure that the interesting discussions and valuable insights from our high profile speakers will not be limited only to attending delegates.”

The Mobile Marketing Forum will be held in Singapore for the first time on April 28 and 29, 2009 at the Suntec Convention Centre. The event is organised by MMA, co-organised by Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) and supported by the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore. The theme for this year’s event is “The Future of Mobile Marketing in Asia”, with a special focus on Visual Code. MMF Singapore will present developments in mobile marketing for all local players, and introduce best practices in mobile marketing in Asia, including metrics, new research and brand ROI.

The live stream, offered through a partnership with bnetTV.com, will be available throughout the two days, and will include an interactive element to allow attendees to text in their questions via the live stream platform, to be projected on to the event screen. Interested applicants can register at http://mobilemarketingforum.com/?q=node/717. The service will be available at a nominal fee.

“With mobile penetration on the rise in Asia Pacific, it is highly anticipated that mobile marketing will emerge as one of the preferred platforms for advertising, especially in this economic downturn where a traditional advertising campaign can be costly,” said Rohit Dadwal, Managing Director of Mobile Marketing Association, Asia Pacific. “At MMF Singapore, we hope to explore and harness the potential of mobile marketing in the region. Through the live feed option, we look forward to involving and engaging more people in our discussions.”

Attendees can look forward to an interesting range of presentations and panel discussions at the event. Speakers include mobile marketing ecosystem leaders, from brands, handset manufacturers and operators to solution providers. Key topics include:

  • Making money with mobile advertising – success stories and more
  • Strategies for maximising reach using mobile advertising
  • Mobile advertising network as a full service offering
  • Application to drive consumer adoption
  • The shift from mobile advertising to engagement: what is engagement: why now for Asian consumers
