“The solid month to month growth that we’ve seen serves to demonstrate the desire of all involved in deploying mobile marketing strategies to play an active role in how the industry evolves, and that mobile continues gaining global recognition,” said MMA President and CEO Mike Wehrs. “The increase in members from our Middle Eastern, South American and Asia-Pacific regions is also testament to the MMA’s global reach.”

2009 has seen extensive activity globally from the MMA; publishing Consumer Best Practices for the Brazilian market, launching the educational Brand and Agency Briefing series in London and brokering the incorporation of North America’s top four wireless operators’ mobile marketing guidelines within the MMA’s best practices. The MMA has also recently completed its hugely successful Mobile Marketing Forum (MMF) in Sao Paulo, with a new addition to the MMF series coming up in Singapore on April 28th and 29th. Designed to support the MMA’s growing member base in the region, the event will examine the future of mobile marketing in Asia, with a special focus on Visual Code Marketing and Advertising. Co-organized by the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) and supported by the International Development Association (IDA), the event will for the first time in the forum's history be offered as a live, interactive broadcast for those unable to travel to Singapore. The live stream, offered through a partnership with bnetTV, can be accessed at http://mobilemarketingforum.com/?q=node/717. Other events in the MMF series are planned for New York in June and Berlin in September. Further information can be found at http://www.mobilemarketingforum.com.

“The Mobile Marketing Association continues to provide an excellent resource for both new and established players in realizing their full potential across this exciting sector. Stimulating industry growth whilst seeking to protect and enhance the interests of consumers will continue to be an important role for the MMA as the market rapidly develops,” said Tony Crabtree, Managing Director, Juniper Research.
