Tagga appoints Jean-Guy Faubert, proven sales leader and business builder as Chief Executive Officer

June 5, 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, May 1, 2012

Tagga is pleased to announce the appointment of veteran software executive, Mr. Jean- Guy Faubert as Tagga’s Chief Executive Officer. Amielle Lake, Founder and original CEO will move into the role of Chief Marketing Officer.

“I am both thrilled and honored to have Jean-Guy join our team.” Amielle said. She added, “I believe he has exactly what Tagga needs: experience in scaling sales, superb customer relationship development skills and a proven background of leading fast-growing companies. I look forward to working with Jean-Guy and building the best company we can.”

For Jean-Guy, mobile is ripe with opportunity. According to Mr. Faubert, “Mobile Commerce is about the explosion of applications and services that are now accessible from Internet-enabled mobile devices.” He continued, “Tagga was one of the first to market with a cloud-based solution that empowers the marketer to connect with consumers across the entire media mix and enable them to buy, share, refer and play with brands whenever they like, wherever they are.”

Recently, Gartner announced a powerful prediction further reinforcing Tagga’s vision. It is as follows, “By 2017, CMO's will spend more on technology than CIOs will on enterprise technology.”

Jean-Guy, a serial entrepreneur four times over, brings over 24 years of experience to Tagga. Most recently, as an early founder at Make Technologies, Mr. Faubert was the Executive VP of Global Alliances, which was recently acquired by Dell (see article here). During his tenure, Make sales nearly tripled year over year. As a result, Make was named to the Deloitte Technology Top 500, recognizing North America’s Fastest Growing high tech companies. Prior to joining Make Technologies, he worked at Burntsand Inc. in New York, building & managing multi-million dollar accounts including Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Chase. Jean-Guy is credited with being instrumental in Burnstand’s explosive growth, which later sold to Open Text. Specifically, Mr. Faubert drove sales to $ 25M with a 38% EBITDA in 3 years. This encompassed the addition of four business lines, acquiring a US Web Content Management company and over 125 people.

Jean-Guy sees the mobile world as a consumer centric one where Tagga plays a substantial role in connecting brands with this market shift. “Smart Phones are quickly becoming Personal Assistants for the savvy consumer - giving them remote access to transact directly with brands as they choose.”

Mr. Faubert concluded, “Tagga's solution enables marketers to take advantage of a dramatic shift in consumer behavior. Tagga believes in a future where consumers will make instant purchase decisions based on their profile, their ability to engage with a brand on their mobile device, and how they interact with their social network.”

Gary Tauss, Chairman of the Tagga Board, had this to add, “After an in-depth search and rigorous review process, we were pleased to conclude with the appointment of Jean-Guy. We believe he has the tools Tagga needs to help us launch into the next stage of growth.”

Tagga’s campaign management solutions are used by ad agencies and brands across North America to better optimize and measure their multi-channel marketing efforts.

Tagga was added to the finalist list for Deloitte & Touche’s Top 100 Emerging Companies in Canada in 2011, The Ready to Rocket 2012 List, and the Top 100 Red Herring North American List for 2011. Tagga recently added Olivier Vincent, former CEO and founder of Canpages and Penny Wilson, former CMO of Macromedia to its Board of Directors.
