Tuba Islam enjoys telling data-driven stories and designing analytical solutions to solve complex business problems in simple, creative and effective ways.

She is specialised in machine learning, deep learning, forecasting, image processing and text analytics. As a data scientist, she had the opportunity to implement interesting projects across various industries including rogue trader fraud detection in capital markets, smart metering analytics in utilities, hazard detection and readmission prediction in healthcare, credit risk in banking, churn prediction in telecom, rate making in insurance, demand forecasting in retail and pharmacovigilance analysis in life sciences.

Before joining SAS, she worked on the development of speech recognition and language identification projects at the National Electronics and Cryptology Institute of Turkey. She has an electrical and electronics engineering background and holds a master’s degree on digital signal processing.
