Peter Würtenberger is the CEO of UPDAY for SAMSUNG. The pan- European mobile news and information service company was founded by Axel Springer in cooperation with Samsung Electronics in 2015 and has been pre-installed as the app ‘UPDAY’ on Samsung’s newest smartphones. With more than 20 years’ experience in the media industry, Peter has gained valuable knowledge about the business and put this into practice to advance its entry into the Digital Age. In 2013 he spent ten months on a digital research project in Silicon Valley’s Palo Alto to support the digital transformation of Axel Springer. As CMO of Axel Springer SE, he spearheaded the successful growth of print and digital advertising revenues. Before joining Axel Springer, Peter held a number of management positions at Yahoo! and Bertelsmann. He holds an MA in Business Management from Cologne University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
