Kimberly A. Whitler is currently an Assistant Professor of Business at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and an Advisory Board member of Harte Hanks. Previously, Whitler spent nearly 20 years in general management, global strategy, and marketing roles within the CPG and Retailing industries, managing global, U.S., and Eastern European-based businesses. She spent most of her career at Procter and Gamble, and more recently served as the General Manager of the Breakfast Division for Aurora Foods, the CMO of David’s Bridal, the country’s leading bridal apparel retailer, and as an officer of PETsMART, the country’s largest pet specialty retailer.
She has written over 200 articles as a Forbes contributor and CMO.com contributor and has published in The Washington Post, Ad Age, Harvard Business Review, The CMO Council’s PeerSphere, Chief Executive, The Conference Board Directors’ Notes, Chief Marketer, The Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, The Journal of Retailing, The Journal of Advertising Research, Business Horizons, The Marketing Science Institute, and the Academy of Management Journal. Whitler’s research regarding the impact of marketers on the board of directors won the 2017 Robert D. Buzzell Marketing Science Institute’s Best Paper of the Year Award.
