An almost 10 year resident of Asia, Karl has worked across a range of categories and brands including L’Oreal, Land Rover, Jaguar, Kimberly Clark and Unilever.  Karl has a deep understanding of the Chinese media and marketing environment, communications planning, marketing analytics and digital strategy.  Previous to joining Mindshare in 2006, Karl was VP of Communications Planning at Starcom where he was focused on clients across their China portfolio including Coke and P&G.  He came to China from Starcom’s NYC-based P&G team where he led comms planning for Homecare and Skincare for North America.

 Karl currently is the CEO for Mindshare Korea, Japan and Taiwan. He has been instrumental in driving the agency’s Original Thinking Framework forward across the region. 

Since taking on this role, he’s been instrumental in driving Mindshare’s relationship forward with Jaguar Land Rover across China, Japan and Korea – and also worked closely with the local Korea team to secure the L’Oreal business in that critical market.  Previously, he was the Managing Director for Mindshare in Beijing where he led the agency’s engagements with Nestle, BP and SAP. 

In 2010, Karl was one of “Internationalist Magazine’s” Innovators of the Year.
