New York, 7 December, 2011 – Today, the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), the leading global trade association for the mobile industry, announced that Cameron Clayton, executive vice president of The Weather Channel, has been named chairman of the Global Board Executive Committee. In addition, Jack Philbin, co-founder and president of Vibes, has been named secretary, replacing Clayton in the role.

In addition, industry veterans Jack Haber of Colgate-Palmolive and Bob Liodice of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) have been named to the MMA Board. They serve in an active advisory role, working with the board and CEO Greg Stuart. All have been appointed for the 2011-2012 board term.

Clayton takes the place of Melis Ertem, media & entertainment and telco services division head, Turkcell, who stepped down this autumn expecting the birth of her first child. Clayton will serve out Ertem’s term until April 2012, and Ertem will continue to serve on the Executive Committee as a member-at-large.

“We thank Melis Ertem for her leadership during a critical time in the MMA’s progress, and we thank Cameron Clayton and Jack Philbin for taking on their important new roles,” said Greg Stuart, Global CEO of the MMA. “We also thank Jack Haber and Bob Liodice, who are among the marketing industry’s most respected leaders. The MMA has been building momentum over the last year, and these moves allow us to drive forward with our mission to make mobile an indispensible part of the marketing mix.”
