ChaCha.com is Fastest-growing Top 100 Website
INDIANAPOLIS (November 8, 2010) ChaCha, the #1 free real-time answers service, has set all-time records on question and answer volume, mobile questions and traffic to its website, ChaCha.com. By the end of October, ChaCha had provided over 900 million answers for free (with a celebration planned when the company achieves its 1 billionth question in December).
Traffic to ChaCha.com, hit a record high of 18.5 million monthly unique users in October, making it the fastest growing among Quantcast's top 100 websites. It is now ranked at number 72 ahead of major sites such as MTV, People.com, TMZ, and Yelp. Traffic on ChaCha's mobile platform added another 3.2 million users for a total direct reach of over 21 million monthly unique users, who are primarily teens and young adults.
Brand advertisers have responded to ChaCha’s reach and engagement proposition with national ad sales jumping 302 percent compared to this time last year. Over 70% of ChaCha's major brand advertisers this year are renewals. Some of ChaCha’s clients include Paramount Pictures, McDonald's, Palm, Coca-Cola, AT&T, J&J, P&G, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and The CW Network. New brands, such as NBC Universal, have chosen ChaCha's unique SMS text-based conversation as a way to introduce their products.
ChaCha’s mobile advertising has been highly successful and proven to drive targeted audiences to take action. The company took home four awards at the recent Digiday:Mobile show, including highly measureable categories such as Best Direct Response and Best Location-Based Mobile Campaigns.
"We have spent the past year making ChaCha increasingly prominent online, on mobile, and throughout social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter," says Scott Jones, ChaCha's CEO. "This has paid off, as we seem to set new records daily in both online and mobile traffic growth, and we will soon answer our billionth question. ChaCha sits in the vortex of online and mobile where the youth of America gather to text, ask questions and share answers with one another. Having already passed Google as a provider of text answers, we see no limitation on our continuing growth."
In October, ChaCha launched a new ChaCha.com website that is further focused on user experience, interactivity, and advertising engagement. Leveraging HTML5 and CSS3, ChaCha.com added additional related images and videos to support questions and answers that come to ChaCha at an ever-growing rate of 2 million a day. ChaCha also closed a $20 million round of funding in October with top-tier investors, Rho Ventures and VantagePoint Venture Partners.
