The Weather Channel Media Solutions: Mid-West Mobile Account Manager (Chicago, IL)
The Weather Channel Mobile Account Manager is responsible for developing all advertising and business opportunities in the mid-west geographic territory for the emerging mobile platform. The Mobile Account Manager will be responsible for working closely with the cable and online Account Managers to develop strategic cross platform campaigns to integrate mobile into advertising upfront negotiations. The position will be based in Chicago and will report to the Director of Mobile Ad Sales in Chicago.
II. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Educate marketplace on mobile as an ad platform
- Generate customer leads
- Schedule and complete client presentations
- Develop client solutions and proposals
- Manage customer / client relationships through full sales cycle
- Meet if not exceed revenue goals for the territory
- Attend industry conferences to further education of mobile advertising
- Establish a mobile leadership role in territory ad community
III. QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE:
- Outside Media Sales experience (5 years +), and 2-4 years experience in Internet Ad Sales preferred.
- Full sales cycle experience (from prospecting through account maintenance)
- Consultative Sales experience
- Proposal writing experience
- Bachelor's Degree, Masters degree preferred
- Advertising Agency background and experience also preferred.
- Prior Mobile Media Sales experience not required
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Must be proficient in developing client proposals/ presentations
- Must be fluent/have experience in identifying and establishing prospect lists
- Must have experience and collaborative abilities to work with internal production team
- Must have proficiency & experience developing and executing strategic marketing plans
- Must have ability & flexibility to review own progress and adapt to changing objectives of the market
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be a problem solver and able to translate customer needs into solutions
