Mobile Marketing Association: VP-Membership & Sales (New York or Denver)
Position Purpose
The VP – Membership & Sales is responsible for planning, maintaining and growing a cohesive and vigorous membership and sales program to help build a solid base for sustainable, renewable operating income. The individual in this position will work closely with membership, staff and partner organizations to drive effective membership recruitment and retention as well as lead sales for Association products/services.
The VP – Membership & Sales leads all aspects of the membership and sales program. His/her primary responsibilities are to acquire, retain and upgrade members; and promote the membership program with the ultimate goal of increasing total membership revenue for operating support. He/she will also be responsible for sales of MMA products/services including research, advertising, and event sponsorship packages and so on.
The Association is the global resource for the mobile marketing and advertising industry worldwide and this role will be key to fulfilling this objective. Though primarily focused on North America, this role will be responsible for liaising, coordinating and motivating individuals who make-up a virtual team.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities

Leads membership recruitment programs on behalf of the Association worldwide (with primary focus on North America). Leads tracking activities and sales programs to drive membership growth in support of Association goals and targets.

Provides membership support for prospective and current members, providing advice on general Association matters, membership and registration issues.

Designs and implements programs to maximize long term member value and maximize member retention strategies and programs.

Responsible for managing all sponsorship sales for the following: MMA events world-wide, custom publishing advertising sales, research, advertising and additional MMA products/services as required.

Collaborates with senior Association staff members and Committee Chair personnel to ensure that member and market insights are reflected in Association strategies and ensures deliverables are achieved on scheduled and on budget.

Regularly communicates, and accurately reports, sales activities and progress towards bookings and revenue targets; establishes and reports sales metrics utilizing Salesforce.com.

Leads and directs the work of others; hires and develops staff and manages performance and conduct; holds staff accountable for results.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required. MBA preferred.

10+ years of experience in direct field sales with recent experience in a senior management sales position.

Minimum of seven (7) years of marketing-related experience. Marketing experience should ideally be multi-disciplined and include: business development or a product development or marketing role.

Proven success in selling to, and cultivating, strong long-lasting customer relationships with CXO and senior-level executives.

Candidate should have demonstrable success in developing and executing strategy.

Demonstrated ability to organize and work in partnership teams with cross-functional organizations.

Prior experience in the mobile industry desired. Understanding of mobile marketing and/or the mobile ecosystem a must.
