Proteus:  Director, Business Development Media Services

Job Description:

As Director, Business Development Media Services you will be responsible for implementing and regularly reviewing Proteus’ sales strategies within the media & marketing verticals in order to develop both existing and new clients within the U.S. market. Your ultimate goal is to achieve targeted growth in sales for the company.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

·         Proactively develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients predominantly in the media and marketing/advertising space to achieve sales goals.
·         Lead, motivate and drive performance management processes throughout the sales teams in order to ensure delivery of sales plans and quality service standards.
·         Undertake networking activities with client organizations and targeted markets in order to develop new business opportunities.
·         Build relationships with key partners in order to develop new business opportunities.
·         Contribute to the annual budget planning process by providing line by line sales modeling and projections.
·         Develop, implement and regularly review a resource and recruitment plan to support the delivery of sales targets across each area of the business.
·         In conjunction with the President, devise, implement and regularly review the Media Services division annual sales plan in order to direct the activities of its sales staff and maximize new and existing business opportunities.
·         Contribute to the development of an annual marketing plan and mobilize teams to maximize business opportunities generated from planned events and activities.
·         Use industry trends and competitor analysis to review and regularly revise business development strategies.
·         Contribute proactively to weekly management meetings in order to identify and agree business priorities and improvement strategies in support of the business plan.
·         Provide input and support for the acquisition and integration of new companies in to the group.

Qualifications:
 
·         Entrepreneurial thinker who is highly competitive and aggressive about the closing of revenue opportunities.
·         Proven track record of negotiating complex deals.
·         High-level relationships at media/entertainment companies and/or advertising agencies
·         Comfortable setting targets and being held accountable for performance
·         Passionate about pursuing opportunities at the cross-section of media and technology
·         Very strong work ethic with ability and willingness to roll up his/her sleeves and pinch hit to get the job done
·         Excellent communicator with the ability to work effectively at all levels within the organization
·         Experience at an early stage company is preferred
·         At least 7 years sales/business development experience
