The MMA chooses a select group of marketing and mobile experts to make up the Advisory Board for each MMA Forum globally. The Advisory Board will work with the MMA and regional Managing Director to provide ideas and feedback during the program planning process.

Paran Johar is Jumptap’s Chief Marketing Officer. Before joining Jumptap, Mr. Johar was EVP of Digital Marketing for North America and Managing Director of MRM’s Los Angeles office. Mr. Johar’s responsibilities included overseeing all operations of the LA office and all digital marketing in North America including online media, search marketing, and mobile marketing. Prior to MRM, Mr. Johar was GM of the Los Angeles office for Tribal DDB where he was responsible for all online media, SEM, and SEO activities. Under his leadership, the Los Angeles office grew from $0 to over $80MM in annual billings, winning numerous awards such as Adweek’s Interactive Agency of the Year in 2005. A seasoned and accomplished marketer and entrepreneur, Mr. Johar brings to Jumptap a diverse background in online branding and marketing communication work from other leading agencies such as iXL, Poppe Tyson, Bates USA, Saatchi and Saatchi and BBDO Worldwide. His client roster has spanned a broad range of work with media & brands such as Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Wells Fargo, Abbott Labs, Microsoft, GM, Toyota, and KFC among others.

Terence Kawaja is Founder and CEO of LUMA Partners, a strategic advisory firm focused at the intersection of media and technology. He is a seasoned investment banker with more than 20 years of experience and has advised on over $250 billion of transactions, including some of the most pivotal deals in the media and tech industries. Throughout his career, Terry has leveraged deep industry knowledge to take a strategic approach to deal making rather than chase transactions. The best compliment people say is that he thinks like a principal.

At LUMA, Terry advises both established media and technology companies as well as digital growth companies. He is a recognized expert in the Internet and digital media sectors and is a popular speaker at leading industry conferences. Terry has a straightforward style and is never afraid to tell it like it is. He also likes to keep things light by using humor to aid substantive presentations.

Prior to founding LUMA Partners, Terry was Co-head of Digital Media at GCA Savvian; Global Head of Media M&A at Citigroup and CSFB; and CFO of publicly-traded Raindance Communications. He received an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, and a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.

When not negotiating deals or telling jokes, Terry enjoys a variety of activities from skiing to water sports. Terry lives in New York City with his wife and their two sons.

As Executive Marketing Director Martin enjoys multiple responsibilities within Ogilvy. He leads and oversees digital projects for international key accounts as well leading the global mobile practice across the Ogilvy Group, Mobile@Ogilvy. In his role as lead for the mobile practice he is responsible for integrating mobile marketing programs into the business programs for Ogilvy’s global clients. He acts as facilitator, coach and strategist both for internal stakeholder as well for clients.

Martin joined Ogilvy New York in Summer 2010, prior to which he was Managing Director of argonauten G2, Berlin. He started working at argonauten G2 in 2002 servicing accounts like Bacardi and Bayer-Schering helping them gain international digital standing. After having spent one year as external consultant for e-communications at Coca-Cola Germany, he thereafter led the Berlin office to become their lead digital agency in Germany.

In his career Martin oversaw international digital programs and initiatives for brands like Coca-Cola, Pernod-Ricard, Volkswagen, Allianz, UBS, Grohe, La Prairie and the Berlin Philharmonics.

Martin holds a degree as “Diplom Kaufmann” (equivalent to MBA) from the Westafaelische-Wilhelms Universitaet in Muenster, Germany.

His speaking engagements around the digital landscape and mobile marketing specifically range from the Cannes Advertising Festival, the Golden Drum Ad Festival to AdTech in San Francisco.

As much as work has defined Martin’s last years he enjoys true rock music as well as the outdoors, above the water and below.

As a thought leader with over 20 years in interactive media and digital marketing, Webster is responsible for driving mobile marketing and social media marketing strategy across the MSLGROUP Americas offices. Webster works with a variety of clients in the healthcare, consumer and corporate practices to develop integrated digital programs that win awards and grow client’s business. He is also champion for the importance of digital innovation to both client’s and staff. During his career, Webster has played a key role in creating digital programs for Microsoft, Nokia, Nike, Citi, P&G, Johnson & Johnson, Subaru, dressbarn, maurices, Underwriters Laboratories, Heineken, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, and other national and international brands.

Webster is a frequent speaker at mobile marketing events. He represents MSLGROUP within the Mobile Marketing Association and is actively involved with a number of MMA activities. Prior to joining MSLGROUP in 2008, Webster was the director of mobile marketing at R/GA in New York.

As VP of Mobile for Webtrends, Mike is responsible for all facets of Webtrends mobile analytics business. Ricci just joined Webtrends after serving as VP and Mobile Practice Leader for Merkle where Michael established Merkle’s mobile marketing practice and helped bring aboard brands like Wendy’s, Samsung, Lord & Taylor, ASK.COM, Lane Bryant, TGI Fridays, DirecTV, Clorox and a slew of others. In a relatively short period of time, Michael established Merkle as the premier mobile marketing player in the eCRM space.

Prior to Merkle, Mike was VP of Creative and Strategy for iLoop, a premier mobile marketing firm focused on assisting marketers, digital agencies and other entities create effective mobile marketing strategies and user experiences. At iLoop, Mike helped Sony, Paramount, Coca Cola, Quicksilver, P&G, Vans, Western Union, Live Nation, Warner, Lexus and many others forge compelling strategies for their mobile marketing initiatives. Mike also helped develop a comprehensive mobile marketing strategy for President Obama’s election campaign – an effort that helped the campaign earn recognition as the 2008 Mobile Marketer of the Year.

Earlier, Mike oversaw Volantis Systems’ Content Services business and helped clients such as ABC (Oscars), WWE, CBS Mobile, Disney, Discovery, EBay, Financial Times, Reuters, Hearst, and others tap into the power of mobile.

Currently a partner with Acta Wireless, Anne Schelle has over 20 years of operations, business development, marketing communication, and legislative/regulatory experience in wireless and related industries. Prior to joining Actium Advisors, Anne served as President of Tasman Technologies, a specialized consulting firm providing business and strategy development services to companies in telecommunications. Anne has been part of the founding management teams of several companies, including xDSL networks, a start-up high speed data access ISP and American Personal Communications/Sprint Spectrum, the nation's first commercial PCS venture. Earlier in her career, she served as director of the PCS division of PCIA, a wireless trade association and manager of business development at LCC Inc., a cellular engineering consulting firm.Anne was also a financial analyst for McCaw Cellular Communications, MCI/Airsignal.

Gary Schwartz

Gary Schwartz was born and spent much of his youth in mining towns in central Africa. He graduated from Columbia University in New York and the Stanford University Center in Yokohama where he was the recipient of the Asia and Japan Foundation Fellowship.

Gary was a columnist in Japan and produced international documentary programming for Asahi Television. After working with UNICEF and the World Bank on educational web development and running a number of technology start ups, Gary founded Impact Mobile in 2002.

Over the past nine years, Gary has played a leadership role in the mobile industry, running the first cross-carrier short code campaign in North America.

Gary founded the mobile committee for the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) (www.iab.net) in 2006 and has worked to publish literature such as the Mobile Buyer's Guide helping extend the digital buy into mobile (for which he received an IAB award for industry excellence in 2009).

Additionally, in 2007, Gary started work to help establish a joint task force between the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) and the IAB with the aid of the Media Rating Council (MRC) to develop global, auditable mobile measurement standards.

In 2010, Gary was elected as the Chair of MEF North America (www.m-e-f.org) with a remit to develop a mobile commerce practice to service brands, retailers and content owners (for which he received a MEF award for industry excellence).

Gary is the recipient of the Macromedia People Choice Award as well as the Dodge Foundation award for innovation. Gary is the author of an upcoming book call Click2K’Ching: The Mobile Shopper & The Impulse Economy.

Krishna Subramanian joined Velti as the co-founder of Mobclix, and in 2011 he was promoted to chief marketing officer at Velti. Previously, Krishna co-founded and was the general manager of new business at Blue Lithium, the world’s largest behavioral targeted ad network, which was acquired by Yahoo! in 2007. He previously led product and marketing at BlueLithium where he pioneered key elements of behavioral targeting: retargeting, predictive targeting, and SIP. Prior to that, Krishna founded Burrp! (acquired by media conglomerate TV18), a localized review and recommendation portal for India, where he ran product and marketing, focusing on ad-supported content delivery to mobile phones. He has a patent pending on mobile analytics and monetization. Krishna graduated with honors from UC Davis.

As VP & ECD of R/GA’s Mobile and Emerging Platforms group, Richard’s current focus is on creating integrated interactive user experiences across the web, wireless, and physical spaces. He has worked on key R/GA accounts such as Avaya, Nike, Nokia, Reuters, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.

While at R/GA, Richard has accumulated almost every major industry award including the Cannes Titanium Lion, Cannes Gold Cyber Lion, the Grand Clio, the GRANDY and the D&AD Black Pencil. He previously served on the board of the Mobile Marketing Association.

Richard was a graduate fellow at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program where his project work concentrated on systems design and mobile human computer interaction.
