Sales Engineer

Your contribution as Sales Engineer Mobile Data is crucial in further enhancing market position in the mobile segment by supporting the pre-sales activities for large mobile networks and mobile solution partners in close cooperation with our Global Sales team.
You are actively participating in customer meetings, delivering high end consultancy, provide technical sales support & design activities for SS7 and Diameter signaling, IP connectivity (MPLS and Private Circuit), VoIP (SIP, SIP-I), data roaming (GRX) and fraud solutions.
External orientation: This is a customer facing role involving prospect meetings, conducting presentations, business analysis, needs analysis and solutions design.
Result driven: You will be involved in responding to bid requests, RFI / RFP, RFQ, identifying customer requirements, designing suitable solutions & presenting at executive/director level.
Teamwork: You realize your goals in optimal cooperation with colleagues in the Global Mobile team (Sales and Product Management) and from various departments in The Hague, London and Burlington.
Leadership:Combining business acumen with advanced technical ability. You are a key mobile specialist and able to translate the specific (technical) requirements of customers to sellable solutions.
Environment:
Experience in a (Global) Telecom, Carrier, Mobile Operator, ISP, OTT environment, working as Presales Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Customer Solution Architect.
Technical knowledge:
SS7 knowledge focus on SCCP, MAP, and MTP; Diameter, LTE; IP Network Knowledge (CCNA level or equivalent preferred), VoIP, IPX; key standards from ITU, IETF, GSMA, and 3GPP; GRX, SMS Firewalls or other mobile data solutions.
Key responsibilities and skills:
- Excellent communication skills including development and delivery of presentations, Q&A
- Good understanding of the Sales Process; ability to qualify a sales opportunity and to analyze and asses in building business cases
- Ability to generate interconnection designs for IP and TDM based services
- Providing regular (market) updates of customer requirements for business-planning and development
- Supporting Regional and Global Mobile Sales on customer opportunities
- Ability to generate service proposals for iBasis customers, developing RFI/RFP documents and generating successful responses
- Close cooperation with Operational departments on design and delivery with focus on customer requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within a pre-sales / sales engineering / solutions architect position with both strong technical and commercial skills. Experience working with or for mobile operators. Bachelor's degree in engineering or business related subjects.
From a technical perspective candidates must possess demonstrable experience in designing and delivering Mobile services on IP or SS7. Knowledge on Diameter, SIP, SIP-I, and strong familiarity with key standards from ITU, IETF, GSMA, and 3GPP are key. Ideally the candidate will posses knowledge on GRX, SMS Firewalls or other mobile data solutions.

He or she has well developed analytical skills, is able to work independently, has strong communication skills, is willing to travel and speaks English fluently.
