Michael Weis
Senior Vice President, Global Finance & Administration

Michael Weis is an accomplished non-profit association finance executive. He has built a successful career on instituting financial discipline with a strong track record of financial results & performance.

Most recently, he was the CFO and Deputy Executive Director of ASME (Amer. Society of Mechanical Engineers), a $100 million non-profit professional association highly regarded for its codes & standards and technical publications including digital media. In addition to being the head of Finance, he also led the operations areas including Facilities, Information Technology, Publishing & Digital Media, and Conferences/Events. During his tenure at ASME, revenues and operating reserves grew an estimated 60% and 50%, respectively, over a seven year period. Mike was a member of the Board of Governors as the Assistant Treasurer and was the liaison to both the Finance & Investment and Audit Committees.

Prior to ASME, Mike spent thirteen years at the IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers), the world’s largest non-profit professional association. At the IEEE, he led the financial planning and analysis function including the development and implementation of multi-year budgeting and operational review processes. He also led the strategic and business planning effort on the publishing & advertising side which included over 80 journals, 30 magazines and 300+ conferences annually. Revenues grew to over $400M annually during his tenure at the IEEE.

Mike comes to MMA with strategic, operational, and global finance experience that encompassed operations in Europe, India and Asia-Pacific. Early in his career, Mike worked in corporate finance positions for manufacturing and consumer products companies that included Revlon, Polo, and Allied-Signal.

Mike has BA in Finance from Upsala College and MBA from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. He lives in Fair Haven, New Jersey with his wife and three children.
